A compilation

As it will

the Book of Pain

Worried he’ll die,
sad he would,
angry he might,
positive he could,
confused he had,
thinking he should—
tired, so very tired,
chaos, regret and guilt—
no, not this way, recover.
Why, why, why, we ask,
but does it really matter?

We are so very, very
we very human humans,
and ought as naught
we hear that clock tick
’til the dawn comes around again,
renewing the dawn once more.
Thus they melt, one into the other,
then the next and the next and the next,
until that day you’re standing over the hospital bed
and it all focuses in, even easier
than it had once slipped away.
Let it go, I say, you are,
that’s enough, let it go,
just breathe.
Hear that?

Thank you for reading As it will. I humbly appreciate your visiting the Book of Pain, and as always, I look forward to your comments.
